I am Brian Sztabnik, a teacher, a coach, a writer, and a man of family. I am curious about what constitutes the good life and how the wisdom of the ages can inform my journey to achieve it.
A few words about this site. Wisdom of Man was created in 2016 as an inquiry into what it means to be a modern man. It is about finding purpose in the simple and useful, ultimately recognizing the dignity of human beings.
I don’t do the standard guy-blog stuff like talk about expensive watches, designer clothes, or six weeks to a killer six pack. I talk about the things that I wish blogs would talk about more often: living a life with intention, making human connections, slowing down, being self-aware, and books. Oh yes, the magical power of books to nourish us, and even transform us.
Think of Wisdom of Man as a growth chart, a record of my intellectual, physical, creative, and spiritual development.
As an English teacher and basketball coach, I am always reading great literature, as well as books on peak physical, psychological and emotional performance, productivity, and purpose. The best recommendations make it into my monthly email, which also includes actionable tips, and motivational mantras. Sign up, and you will get the blessing of wisdom without the haggle of a flooded inbox.
Live well and enjoy.
